Phase I Construction
Construction in the project's Phase I area began March 1, 2023. The project area scheduled for Phase I improvements is shown in the image below and includes the following blocks:

Construction Details
The Village’s construction contractor, Acqua Contractors, will install new storm sewer and water mains, drainage structures and other related water services near your home. A new, large-diameter storm sewer system will be installed to safely drain stormwater into the Des Plaines River in tandem with future Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) I-290 Expressway improvements. Sections of existing water services will also be improved on 2nd, 4th, and 6th Avenues.
After underground improvements have been completed on each street in the project area, roadway restoration will follow. Restoration will include new concrete curb and gutter, driveway aprons, sidewalks, pavement, and landscaping. Congress and Van Buren Street roadways will be fully reconstructed. 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th Avenue roadways will be restored with pavement patching and resurfacing.
